This study attempted to conduct a comparative translation enquiry aimed at examining the original English and translated version of the well-known American novel "Daddy Long Legs " by Jean Webster translated by Mohsen Soleimani. First, both texts were thoroughly read and compared to identify the quantity of various personal pronoun types employed. Then, both English and Persian translated texts were fully examined at sentence level once again to detect the types of adjustment strategies as well as general translation procedures utilized by the translator. Having examined the texts, sample sentences containing adjustment as well as translation strategies were extracted. Later, the selected samples were analyzed to detect their adaptation with various categories of translation strategies presented by Newmark (1988). Results, in general, show a significant difference between Persian and English texts of the novel in terms of frequency of usage of pronouns. In particular, it appears that lower quantity of pronouns employed the by translator is justified in terms of null subject property of Persian language as a + pro-drop language which allows sentences without overt subjects. Likewise, the translator's idiosyncrasy concerning adoption of translation strategies is a crucial factor in this regard. Regarding the second research question, the findings indicated that seven types of pronoun adjustment techniques were adopted. The analysis of the samples also displays that the following strategies were utilized by the Persian translator to render the selected novel: omission, transposition, modulation, addition, expansion, and calque.
