The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of internet addiction in the relationship between phobe behavior in using the phone along with spending leisure time relying on sports activities in the youth of Zanjan province. The research method is a descriptive-correlation type, which was conducted in the field. The statistical population of the research was all the youth of Zanjan province (age range 18 to 35 years). Due to the unlimited statistical population, a sample of 384 people was selected from the unlimited population. The sampling method was a multi-stage cluster that targeted young athletes participating in gyms and sports centers, sports parks and public sports fields. The research tools include the standard questionnaire of fobbing behavior in the use of cell phones by Sun et al. (2022), Internet addiction questionnaire by Kimberly and Young (1998) and the questionnaire on how to spend free time by Ebrahim et al. (2014). To ensure the validity of the questionnaires, after compiling them, the opinions and guidance of expert professors in the science of sports management were used and their opinions were included in the final questionnaire. To ensure the reliability of the questionnaires, 30 copies of it were distributed in a preliminary study on a sample that was completely randomly selected, and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the fobbing behavior questionnaire in the use of mobile phones (α = 0.82), Internet addiction questionnaire (87 (α=0.00) and the questionnaire on how to spend free time (α=0.90) was obtained. In the following, descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and inferential (Kalmogrof-Smirnov, structural equation modeling) methods were used to analyze the data using SPSS software. Version 24 and Smart Plus version 3 were used at a significance level of α=0.05. The research results showed that fobbing behavior has a significant relationship with sports leisure time and internet addiction. Also, internet addiction plays a mediating role in the relationship between phobe behavior and sports leisure time. Therefore, it is suggested that the use of cell phones for young people should be organized and controlled by parents, and the appropriate norms of its use should be taught to them so as not to cause the phenomenon of addiction.
