چكيده
The purpose of this study was to explore the norms in translation of drama genre from English into Persian. The main focus of this study was to identify the differences related to the norms in Persian translation of Wuthering Heights. For this reason, the original version of the novel 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Bronte in English and one translated versions from English to Persian (Kamran Parvane, Llove never die in 1371) was selected for the aim of the current study. The norms were analyzed based on Toury's framework (1995). The results showed that the translator had tendency towards omission of the norms in the novel 'Wuthering Heights'. Furthermore, the translator used euphemism as the other strategy in translating the taboo words and in general, he was cautious in translating the norms. In sum, based on the analysis, it was revealed that the initial norm as well as the operational norms were observed in the corpus, however the preliminary norm was absent in the translated version by Kamran Parvaneh. The study has implications for translators as well as curriculum developers.
