چكيده
The use of technology in teaching and learning environments is an important aspect which has received considerable attention in recent years. In a similar vein, the use of computers to increase the effectiveness of instruction has been acknowledged through a number of experimental studies carried out so far. The present study was conducted to improve receptive vocabulary knowledge of EFL students through using Top Notch application which can be installed on computers. Thirty-two students including males and females with the age range of 17 to 23 participated in this study. They were divided into 2 groups, an experimental and a comparison group. Participants in the comparison group received no treatment related to the application. After administrating the post test, results which were achieved by t-test formula showed that the participants who had benefited from computer-assisted language learning had a significantly better performance in post-test than the participants in the comparison group. In addition, a questionnaire which was designed to make the researcher aware of students' attitudes toward computer learning was distributed among the participants in the experimental group. The results showed that approximately all of learners had positive attitudes toward using computer Apps in their language learning.
