چكيده
The aim of this study was to assess the quality of tow Persian translation of George Orwell's A Clergyman's Daughter novel by Mehdi Afshar (1369) and BehnazPiadeh (1388) based on House's translation quality assessment model. To do so, some parts of source text were selected randomly. The source text profile included field, mode and tenor and their subcategories and also the genre of source text were realized. The original text's profile war compared with the profile of the translations. As a result, some errors and mismatches were found in Afshar's translation, but in Piadeh's translation any remarkable mismatches were not found. For the next step, we tried to analysis the target text in comparing with the original text in order to find overt errors included addition, substitution, omission and breaches of target language system. As a result, some errors and mismatches were found in both translations, but Afshar's translation contains more errors than Piadeh's translation. In conclusion, Piadeh's translation is better and more qualified thanAfshar's translationas a literal translation
