It has been widely acknowledged that a course book is an important component of EFL classroom. So evaluation of course books is of great importance especially when it is used in a nationwide context like Payam-e-Noor University. Because it is an international university and it has many instructors and students, it needs to be evaluated. This study aimed to evaluate ‘English Language Teaching Methodology’, a course book of B.A. and compensatory credit of M.A. students of this context. To achieve the aim of this study, a mixed method design was used to collect the needed data with thirty-three students. It was done through using textbook analysis, questionnaires, and interviews. The questionnaire was researcher-made, with 15 items that were related to two criteria and covered two evaluation categories: Layout and Physical Make-up, and Content. Data analysis of the questionnaires was carried out using SPSS version 25. Thirty-three B.A. students of Payam-e-Noor who were randomly selected, answered the questionnaire. The qualitative study of the course book was carried out based on chapter 5, 6, and 7 of the book. The results of the questionnaires, interviews and the qualitative analyses revealed that the course book could not satisfy students and instructors. The findings of this study can benefit all the interested parties of PNU including the main consumers, the students, ELT administrators, textbook designers, and office of compiling and publishing educational books and content to be more attentive while editing and justifying a book to be published.
