چكيده
The present research attempted to investigate the effect of peer editing through Wikispaces on correcting L2 students` writing to the Iranian EFL learners. For reaching the aims of this study, 60 Iranian adult intermediate female and male EFL learners from language institutes were chosen based on intact group sampling. It means that from the intermediate classes of the language institutes, two of them were chosen as the experimental and control groups. First, all the participants took Oxford Placement Test (OPT) as a homogeneity test. Then, a writing pre-test was administered to measure the participants’ initial writing in terms of lexical richness, grammatical range and accuracy. After that, when the experimental group were given a topic for writing through Edmodo, they were required to write a text (One paragraph essay) and comment on each other’s writing through Edmodo. It means while students were reading each other’s writing, they were required to edit the errors in terms of grammar and vocabulary. The control group undergone the same procedure except that they did not use Edmodo. Finally, the writing post-test was administered to measure any change in the learners’ writing improvement in terms of lexical richness, grammatical range and accuracy. For data analysis, SPSS 17.0 software was used to run independent samples t-test to make comparisons between the experimental and the control groups’ test scores. The results indicated that peer editing through Wikispaces has significant impact on the EFL learners’ writing improvement regarding lexical richness, grammatical range and accuracy. At the end, this study presented some pedagogical implications and suggestions for further research.
